| November 2009 | The CPTU, in conjunction with the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine, have set-up a patient and public advisory group. It is essential for our trials units to be able to gauge public opinion regarding both the information being provided to participants of clinical trials, and also on the principles and priorities that have inspired the proposed studies. The Queen Mary Trials Advisory Group (QMTAG) will assist the units by:-

| April 2009 | Following a successful review in November 2008, the CPTU has been awarded a renewed programme grant from Cancer Research UK starting 1st June 2009 |
| March 2009 | The CPTU has made available their SOPs on the website here. The SOPs are free to download, but you must first register a valid email and accept the Terms and Conditions for use. |
| January 2009 | The South East Ethics Committee has recenty given a favourable ethical opinion of the LATTE study. The Committee has also agreed that all sites in this study should be exempt from site-specific assessment (SSA) as favourable opinion for the study applies to all sites involved in the research. R&D approval should still be obtained from the relevant care organisation(s) in accordance with NHS research governance arrangements. |
| December 2008 | CPTU will be initiating a new epidemiologic observational study called LATTE in the first quarter of 2009. It will compare the long-term effects of treatment with tamoxifen and anastrozole as adjuvant therapy for breast cancer in post-menopausal women who were in the ATAC trial.
